LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 66-foot tall mural will be unveiled tomorrow at the Los Angeles Mission at Skid Row, painted by well-known local street artist Kenny Scharf. Â
Scharf has been working on the project for four days, drawing small crowds of interested onlookers attracted by its colorful images and social media buzz, according to mission staff. Â
The 62-year-old Los Angeles native is known for his participation in New York City's vibrant East Village art scene in the 1980s, alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. His work spans painting, sculpture, fashion, video, performance art, and street art. Â
Scharf was also guest designer of the 2021 Dior Men's Collection. Â
He is donating his time for the Skid Row project.
